Hylton Maiden

The Hylton Maiden was introduced by breeder Cecilia Hylton of Gainesville, VA. The Maiden 3 & Over Western Pleasure class was started due to her belief that futurity horses should wait until they are physically and mentally mature to compete.

In order to compete in this class, the 3 & Over Maiden horses are not allowed to show at any other event before their debut in the Hylton Maiden. "There are not many horses, at two years old, who can go in the show pen or who need to go in the show pen. This gives [those horses] another opportunity to come and show. That’s our belief."
